The Tragedy of Romeo and Rosaline, Bread and Roses Theatre - Review

Arguably the most famous of Shakespeare’s play, you would be hard pressed to find someone who hadn’t at least heard of Romeo and Juliet. Reinterpretation is the lifeblood of theatre, stopping any historical play from being stagnant. What Sharon Jennings of Fentiman Productions has managed to do is keep the play fresh, without reinventing the wheel. Instead she looks at the details in the early back story and extrapolated a parallel narrative from what wasn’t shown in the Bard’s play.
