Edinburgh Fringe Festival 3-27 August 2012

The full programme of the world’s largest arts festival and greatest cultural event is available.

Once again you’ll find the incredible mixture of cabaret, children’s shows, comedy, dance and physical theatre, events, exhibitions, music, musicals and operas, spoken word and theatre squeezed into every space in Scotland’s capital over three weeks in August.

Copies of the Fringe programme will be available in shops, theatres and venues all over the UK. You will be able to see the whole programme on the Fringe website www.edfringe.com

The Fringe box office opens at 12:00 (noon) on Thursday 31 May and tickets are available online at www.edfringe.com; by phone on 0131 226 0000 and in person at 180 High Street, Edinburgh. And from the middle of June the official Fringe iPhone and Android Apps will be available to download enabling you to buy tickets from your phone for collection.

Tickets that have been booked over the phone or online can be picked up at 180 High Street or the University of Edinburgh’s Visitors Centre which will be open from 12.00 on 31 May.

BBC Free Shows

The BBC shows are amongst the Fringe’s most popular and there’s always high demand. This year the BBC are to ask anyone wanting to see one of their free shows to apply for tickets in a random draw. The draw for tickets will be organised by the BBC at

2012 Fringe Schools Poster Competition

This year’s Fringe Schools Poster Competition was won by eight year old Marc Robb from Bainsford Primary school in Falkirk. His brilliant picture is the official poster for the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the design has been turned into t-shirts, magnets, mugs and posters.
