Holiday by The Honourable Society of Faster Craftswomen

Coming to the Camden People’s Theatre on the 22nd and 23rd July 2011 is Holiday by The Honourable Society of Faster Craftswomen. Holiday is a performance which includes pregnant nudity and much more:

“Laura's naked body has decided to take a break from her exhausting brain. She is sitting in a deck chair on the moon, in a sombrero. All she wants is to bathe in the light of the earth, and not have too many bright ideas. But the peace of the trip is disturbed when we discover her mind, played by a retro tape player, has stowed away in her suitcase.”

The Honourable Society of Faster Craftswomen is a theatre company making new work, using visually arresting forms, audio and new writing to explore issues of identity and present female and male protagonists who don't conform to type.

"It's rare to see a naked body on stage without shock or striptease. It's rare to see a naked body trying to act natural while it fumbles about with some extension leads. It's even rarer to see a woman, seven-and-a-half months pregnant, in the buff; to be invited to look long and hard at that planetlike belly, and wonder what, exactly, nature intended."
