Voicebox Playwriting Workshop at New Shoes Theatre
These playwriting afternoons will take place over three Saturdays in London.
Dates: 18th & 25th June & 2nd July 2011.

All Voicebox workshops are led by Azure D. Osborne-Lee and are suitable for people looking to find their voices or reinvigorate their writing practices. Azure has a particular interest in the way women are represented in theatre.
This is an excellent opportunity for writers of all experience levels.
Participants will not only receive support and feedback from Azure, but from the other members of the workshop as well. The workshop series will culminate with a showcase, in which each participant may have their work read by recently trained actors.

Session 1- 18th June: Introduction, getting started or looking at what we have already got.
Session 2 – 25th June: Characterization & dialogue
Session 3 – 2nd July: Sharing with others, editing & working with Actors

Azure was the 2010 resident playwright at Freedom Train Productions in Brooklyn, NY.
She is an international actress, published poet, and produced playwright who holds an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies and an MA in progress in Advanced Theatre Practice as well as a BA in English & Spanish. Azure has performed and led workshops internationally.
