Google addresses major bug and releases Android update for supported Pixels
Google has recently released the November Android update for supported Pixel devices, addressing several issues. One of the major bugs that caused devices to get stuck in a reboot loop after the Android 14 update has been fixed, bringing relief to impacted users.
The bug affected various devices, including the Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro. Users reported being stuck in a constant reboot cycle, making it impossible to use their devices.
In addition to fixing the reboot loop bug, the update also addresses other issues reported by users. These include a green flash when the display turns off, unstable NFC functionality, system instability when an app requests another app that is no longer installed, disappearing desktop icons upon unlocking the device, misaligned wallpaper for devices with a notch or hole-punch, and screen jerkiness on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Google is rolling out the update gradually, and it is estimated to take about a week to reach all supported devices. The timeframe may vary depending on the carrier and device specifications.
The new build numbers for the supported devices are UP1A.231105.001 for the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a 5G. For the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the build number is UD1A.231105.004, while the remaining supported devices will have build number UP1A.231105.003.
Updating to the latest Android version is essential not only to ensure a smooth user experience but also to address any potential security vulnerabilities. Therefore, Pixel users are encouraged to check for the update and install it as soon as it becomes available for their device.
