Title: Ukraine’s Troops Fall Back to New Positions as Russian Forces Advance
In a recent statement, Ukraine’s top commander, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskii, announced that Kyiv’s troops have retreated to new positions west of three villages on the eastern front, where Russia has concentrated significant forces. The situation at the front has worsened, especially in areas west of occupied Maryinka and northwest of Avdiivka.
Despite facing certain tactical successes from the enemy, Ukraine’s troops have not allowed them to gain operational advantages. The troops have been forced to take up new positions to replace units that suffered losses. Russian forces, on the other hand, have superior ammunition and air power, out-shelling Ukrainian troops six to seven times.
To help close the firepower disparity, Ukraine is eagerly awaiting the delivery of new US weapons under a $61 billion aid package. The lack of artillery shells and manpower has allowed Moscow’s troops to slowly advance since capturing Avdiivka. The villages of Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske are described as the hottest spots on the front line, with increased Russian troop presence near Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city.
Reports indicate that Russia is preparing for an offensive in the north of the country, prompting Ukrainian troops to reinforce their positions in the most threatening directions. The ongoing conflict continues to escalate, with both sides vying for control in the region.
