The Giants Make a Big Move by Signing Veteran Wide Receiver Allen Robinson
The New York Giants have added some experience to their receiving corps by signing veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson to a one-year deal. Robinson, who started all 17 games for the Steelers in 2023, had a disappointing season with only 34 receptions for 280 yards and no touchdowns. As a result, the 30-year-old receiver was released by the Steelers on March 8.
Despite his struggles last season, Robinson has a track record of success in the NFL. His best season came in 2015 with the Jaguars, where he earned a Pro Bowl selection with 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. In his 10-year career, Robinson has amassed 562 catches for 7,028 yards and 43 touchdowns while playing for the Jaguars, Bears, Rams, and Steelers.
The addition of Robinson adds depth to a revamped Giants receiving group that includes young talent like Malik Nabers, the team’s selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Giants have high expectations for Nabers to contribute immediately, alongside returning receivers Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, and Isaiah Hodgins, as well as free agent signing Isaiah McKenzie.
With Robinson’s experience and playmaking ability, the Giants hope he can provide a boost to their offense and help quarterback Daniel Jones take the next step in his development. As the team aims to compete in a tough NFC East division, Robinson’s signing could be a key piece in their quest for success in the upcoming season.
