A leak by well-known tipster Evan Blass has revealed details of Google’s upcoming phone, the Pixel 8a, through a tutorial on UScellular’s website. The tutorial has since been taken down, but not before Blass spotted key information about the device.
UScellular’s website briefly showcased the Pixel 8a in an Obsidian color variant, along with other color options like Porcelain, Bay, and Mint. The leak also indicated that the Pixel 8a will feature a curvier design and chunkier bezels compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a. Additionally, earlier leaks suggest that the back of the phone will have a matte texture instead of a glossy finish.
Rumored specifications for the Pixel 8a include a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits peak brightness. The phone is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chip. Reports also suggest that the Pixel 8a may come with a slightly larger battery than the Pixel 7a, as well as support for faster charging.
Google has not officially confirmed these details, but the leaks have generated excitement among tech enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the release of the Pixel 8a. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated device.
