Apple’s highly anticipated iPad Pro launch may be facing delays due to supply issues with OLED panels, according to reports. The tech giant reportedly planned to use different suppliers for the 11-inch and 13-inch OLED panels for the new models. However, Samsung Display experienced poor yields for the 11-inch panels, causing Apple to shift orders to LG Display.
As a result, LG Display is now expected to supply 60% of the panels for the upcoming iPad Pro models. The company made a significant investment in a sixth-generation OLED production line to meet Apple’s stringent quality control standards. Overall, Apple has ordered 8.5 million OLED display panels from South Korean suppliers.
The new iPad Pro models will feature a tandem OLED structure, which is said to improve the display quality significantly. The launch of the new iPad Pro models is reportedly set to coincide with the release of the new iPad Air models in early May, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the new iPad Pro models, which are expected to come with a range of exciting features and improvements. Despite the supply issues, Apple is working hard to ensure that the new devices meet the high expectations of consumers. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming iPad Pro launch.
