The Denver Broncos were out in full force at the LSU pro day, with key members of their coaching staff present to scout top talent for the upcoming NFL draft.
Among those in attendance were the Broncos’ quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive line coaches, showing just how serious the team is about finding the right players to improve their roster.
One player who caught the attention of many NFL teams, including the Broncos, was top-3 quarterback Jayden Daniels. The young QB attracted head coaches and general managers from six different teams, as well as over 40 position coaches.
After the pro day, the Broncos met with Daniels, with head coach Sean Payton and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb present. It’s clear that the team is considering going quarterback with their first-round pick in the draft.
Wide receivers coach Keary Colbert was also in attendance to watch Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr., both of whom are expected to be first-round picks. Nabers, in particular, has a chance to be the first receiver off the board, while Thomas Jr. impressed with a 4.33 40-time.
On the defensive side, Broncos’ defensive line coach Jamar Cain was focused on Maason Smith, Mekhi Wingo, and Jordan Jefferson. These players could help improve the Broncos’ run defense and pass rush, addressing areas of need for the team.
Overall, the Broncos are meticulously evaluating a wide range of prospects in the draft to address their lack of depth on the team. With the talent on display at the LSU pro day, the Broncos are surely optimistic about finding impactful players to bolster their roster for the upcoming season.
