Title: Israelis Urged to Stay Safe as Clashes Intensify in Ethiopian City

Date: [Current Date]

The Foreign Ministry of Israel has issued a warning to Israelis residing in the Ethiopian city of Gondar, urging them to remain indoors as clashes between regional forces and the military continue to escalate. As tensions rise in the Amhara region, militia members have launched attacks on army units, while protesters have blockaded roads throughout the area.

In light of the volatile situation, flights to Gondar and Lalibela have been temporarily suspended, and access to the internet has been disrupted, adding to the urgency of the situation. Concerned for the welfare and safety of its citizens, the ministry has advised Israelis to remain in secure locations and maintain contact with the Israeli embassy in Addis Ababa.

Moreover, any Israelis considering traveling to Gondar or Ethiopia in general have been strongly advised to reconsider their plans, with travel to the Amhara region specifically discouraged. The unrest has reached a critical point, leaving little room for the ministry to take chances with the well-being of its citizens.

The Foreign Ministry officials have been closely monitoring the situation, with ongoing communication established with 50 Israeli nationals currently in Gondar. An additional 60 individuals eligible for Israeli citizenship are also being kept on the ministry’s radar.

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen emphasized the importance of Israelis remaining in safe places, emphasizing that the embassy is working diligently with the Ethiopian government and other diplomatic missions to formulate strategies for the safe evacuation of Israelis trapped in the area.

The situation in the Amhara region has prompted the Ethiopian government to declare a state of emergency, effectively banning protests and subjecting violators to severe penalties. Under the current decree, authorities have been granted the power to detain suspects without a court order, conduct thorough searches, and impose curfews.

There is growing concern that these draconian measures may be extended to other parts of Ethiopia if deemed necessary. As such, the appeal for Israelis to stay away from the Amhara region remains in place to prevent any further potential harm.

With the situation on the ground rapidly evolving, it is vital for Israelis in Gondar and those contemplating travel to Ethiopia to exercise caution and closely follow updates from the Foreign Ministry. Female Arts implores readers to prioritize their safety and adhere to the advisory issued by the authorities to ensure their well-being in these turbulent times.
